The Wausau Region Chamber of Commerce has a new helmsman, after former director Aaron Kapellusch left in May. The Chamber’s board selected David Eckmann as its next Chief Executive Officer and president. Eckmann will begin his role Aug. 8.
Prior to the chamber, Eckmann served as UW-Stevens Point’s special assistant for economic development. Prior to that, Eckmann worked at McDevco and the chamber.
“Dave has lived and worked in our area for a long time, bringing many valuable connections to the Chamber, says Chamber board chair Melissa Kampmann. Dave fit the board’s expectations because of his strong economic development and business retention background, Kampmann says.
