Two central Wisconsin breweries took medals in a brewing contest featuring 9,000 beer entrants in 170 categories.
Mosinee Brewing Company took silver for its Pineapple Comet Milk Shake IPA in the U.S. Open Beer Championship in the milk shake IPA category earlier this month. The contest included breweries throughout the United States, and is considered one of the top three beer contests in the U.S.
Mosinee Brewing Co. was one of only six Wisconsin breweries to medal in the competition. Stevens Point Brewery took third place in the root beer category for its Point Root Beer, the only other central Wisconsin brewery to medal in the competition.
Mosinee Brewing Company opened at the end of 2018, sparking a revival of the city’s downtown.
