CLEAN IT UP, Wausau!

Wausau officials are partnering with The Good News Project and Schulz Recycling for the second of two large item drop off events this year.

Previously, “Clean it up, Wausau” was held once each year in the spring. The additional event is to “provide quality service and a clean environment” for city residents, according to a news release.

The drop-off runs 9 am–5 pm on Sept. 16-17 at the east end of the Wausau Yard Waste Site on Chellis Street. The layout has been redesigned to alleviate the long lines residents encountered at earlier events, city officials say.

Snow blowers, lawn mowers, most large appliances and large furniture items are free to drop off; freezers and dehumidifiers incur a charge of $15 each. Electronics, broken TVs and tires also have associated fees. Proof of residence in the city of Wausau is required.
