Hear two singer-songwriters on one stage sharing intimate songs with compelling instrumental arrangements. San Francisco indie rocker Megan Slankard charms audiences with her clever vocals and dynamic voice. She is joined by multi-instrumentalist, music producer and singer-songwriter Alex Wong. From Nashville, Wong creates cinematic pop soundscapes with his songwriting, and he even produced one of Slankard’s recent albums. They sound great solo, but combined, their heartfelt songs with gorgeous harmonies will leave you hanging on to every word they sing. 7:30 pm. $15 general, $20 reserved table. Voxmarshfield.com.

SATURDAY 10/13 | GUU’S ON MAIN, STEVENS POINT

It’s a night of complex grooves and blasting horns with this up-and-coming Madison-based group. With a mix of styles ranging from funk to jazz and progressive rock to reggae, they perform what they call funk-fusion. It’s fun, yet musically technical. The group is driven by Max Morki, a 2018 MAMA award nominee for Instrumentalist of the Year on the drum set, with his solid and intricate talents along with the songwriting skills of guitarist and vocalist Frank Laufenberg. What really sets this group apart are their complex horn lines and impressive solos. 10 pm. 715-344-3200.
