The Rad Trads

FRIDAY 10/5 | GRAND THEATER, WAUSAU

This group has five distinct lead vocalists, which isn’t something you hear very often. Then add a driving horn section, psychedelic guitars and an infectious punk rock energy, and it’s easy to see why The Rad Trads are one of the most buzzed-about live acts from New York City. They’ve toured across four continents, 15 countries and 41 states sharing their awesome blend of indie rock, Americana and soul. Incorporating elements of folk rock into their brass-heavy sound, the group creates lush arrangements for songs that are funny, challenging and well-crafted. Their new album, On Tap, came out September 14, so you’ll hear some of their newest work at this intimate 10×10 Series show. 8 pm. $10 in advance, $15 at door, table reservations available. Bradley Sperger

FRIDAY 10/5 | PATRON MEXICAN RESTAURANT, WESTON

This guy is a one-man-band powerhouse, but don’t let the one-man part fool you. He combines his voice and guitar with electronic live looping that allow him to project a full sound that you would hear from a group of musicians. It’s fascinating to watch him start on one instrument, and as the song progresses, go from one instrument to the other, adding each one in succession to create the full sound. It’s sure to be a great evening of music and margaritas with Patron also debuting their Tequila of the Month. 7-10 pm. 715-298-6488.
