KRONENWETTER names new TOP COP

A 10-year veteran of the Kronenwetter Police Department will be the department’s next top cop, village officials announced this month.

The village’s top pick, Lt. Terry McHugh, is a recent FBI National Academy graduate and U.S. Army veteran who holds a B.A. in criminal justice from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. Before joining the Kronenwetter department, McHugh worked as an officer in Albuquerque, New Mexico, according to a news release.

Marathon County Sheriff’s Chief Deputy Chad Billeb, who is chair of the Kronenwetter police and fire commission, says McHugh was one of two finalists for the post and was chosen for his enthusiasm and commitment to the community.

McHugh will assume his new role Dec. 31, when current Chief Dan Joling steps down. Joling announced his retirement in April.
