Tara Jane Sullivan

The search continues for the whereabouts of a village of Weston woman who went missing last week.

Police are still searching for Tara Jane Sullivan, 47, of Weston who police discovered missing Wednesday. Someone reported to police finding her missing phone in Ringle, and when police went to return it to her, she wasn’t home.

Police reports didn’t specify why but described the circumstances around her absence as suspicious. Later that afternoon, a pair of off-duty Wausau police officers found her car abandoned on Highway 29 near Shawano.

Police officials say they’ve conducted numerous searches of the area in an attempt to find Sullivan, but so far have come up short.

As the efforts to locate Sullivan continue, authorities will continue to follow up on any and all tips received while also processing evidence such as her cellphone and vehicle. The Sheriff’s Office continues to encourage anyone that knows Tara well, or has had contact with her in the past two weeks to call 715-261-1200, option 5, to speak with an investigator.

Marathon County Sheriff’s Office

Police say she had ties to the Fox Valley area and could have left Marathon and Shawano counties by now.

The Sheriff’s Office has asked people not to attempt searches themselves out of safety concerns.
