6 fun things to do around Wausau this week

Posted

Rock out to Electric Light Orchestra tunes, learn about Wisconsin's drinking history or brush up on your gardening skills! Here are six fun things to do around Wausau this week:

Evil Woman: The American ELO

Sunday, April 26 | The Grand Theater, Wausau
Evil Woman: The American ELO performs the eternally groovy music of Jeff Lynne’s Electric Light Orchestra in a concert that transports you to the era of symphonic rock. Few bands have created more iconic songs as ELO, with “Mr. Blue Sky,” “Livin’ Thing” and “Evil Woman” among the many instantly recognizable, chart-topping hit songs. Be spellbound by the flawless musicianship and vocals of Evil Woman’s 12 musicians in this fusion of pop and orchestral arrangements where cellos co-exist with guitars, and classically-tinged rock intersects with pop — just as Jeff Lynne intended. Starts at 7 p.m. Tickets are $34-$65. grandtheater.org

Bottoms Up: A Toast to WI’s Historic Bars and Breweries

Learn more about Wisconsin taverns, their decor, culture, and the evolution of brewing from farmhouse, to factory, to craft brewery. Draeger worked in the field of historic preservation and architecture at the Wisconsin Historical Society for more than 20 years, most recently as the State Historic Preservation Officer.
