Hot Club of Cowtown & Tyler Hilton Celebrate Elvis

Known for its legendary catalogue, including the early albums of Elvis Presley, Sun Studios has left its mark on the history of rock music. In 2005, Tyler Hilton was cast to play the legendary rock star in the blockbuster biopic “Walk The Line,” starring Joaquin Phoenix as Johnny Cash. Now Tyler has teamed up with the inimitable string trio Hot Club of Cowtown, bringing Elvis’s hits from the Sun Studio years to life on stage across the country. Snowshoe Hike & Wine Flight

Embrace the warm glow of candlelight across the snow while peppering your palate with a variety of delicious and intriguing wines at the Snowshoe Hike and Wine Flight. Wine not your thing? Enjoy hot and cold refreshments and snacks around the cozy campfire. While you’re at it, test your luck among the raffle baskets and 50/50 raffle. If using snowshoes, bring your own. Easter Egg Felting Workshop

Saturday, Feb. 28 | The Copper Mug, Wausau
Come hatch a half dozen Easter eggs -- the easy way! This workshop teaches you how to create decorative Easter eggs out of wool felt. Make one or stay and finish all six. This class is perfect for new or veteran felters. All supplies included. Extra supplies will be available for purchase to complete more eggs for yourself or to give as gifts. Know that felting needles are very sharp and there is a chance you could poke yourself. Attendees will need to use repetitive motion with their hands and wrists. Participants will explore fascinating STEM concepts through hands-on activities, experiments and challenges that spark curiosity and inspire innovation. Whether you’re designing tech, experimenting with chemistry or tackling engineering problems, you’ll have the chance to explore your interests while making new friends who share your passions! Absolute Cinema: “Ivan’s Childhood”

Screening this month at UWSP is Andrei Tarkovsky’s 1962 film “Ivan’s Childhood.” This Soviet war drama tells the story of orphaned boy Ivan, whose parents were killed by the invading German forces, and his experiences during World War II.
