Absolute Cinema: “Holy Motors”

Friday, March 27 | UWSP Dreyfus Center Theater, Stevens Point
Screening this month at UWSP is Leos Carax’s 2012 film “Holy Motors.” This French surrealist fantasy follows a man who boards a limousine and is driven to nine mysterious “appointments.” From dawn to dusk, the film follows a few hours in the life of Monsieur Oscar, a shadowy character who journeys from one life to the next. He is, in turn, captain of industry, assassin, beggar, monster, family man. He seems to be playing roles, plunging headlong into each part — but there are no cameras present.
