Taste N Glow Balloon Fest

Experience excitement and wonder at the Taste ‘N Glow Balloon Festival with hot air balloons illuminating the sky. Witness a stunning array of balloons in various shapes and sizes filling the air with vibrant colors. Enjoy live music, delectable food, craft vendors, kids’ activities, log rollers, a car show and much more! Don’t miss the night glow, featuring tethered hot air balloons lit up against the night sky, synchronized with music. For adults and children 12 and older, entry costs $10 per day or $15 for the weekend, and children 11 and under get in at no cost. Pastries with Prints

Saturday, July 11 | Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum, Wausau

Join Woodson Art Museum assistant director and collections curator Amalia Wojciechowski in the “Hot Off the Press” galleries for coffee and pastries from Kreger’s Bakery before the museum opens for the day. This informal morning gathering offers a chance to enjoy the exhibition in a calm setting and learn a bit more about the technique and ideas behind the works on view. Science of Softball Camp

Thursday, July 16 | Athletic Park, Wausau

Wausau Ignite Softball and the Children’s Imaginarium are joining forces this month to put on an exciting, innovative summer camp that joins education and recreation. Kids will step onto the field at historic Athletic Park and discover how science and the sport of softball collide! They’ll learn about reaction time, sweet spots aerodynamics and will engineer their own launchers. To cap things off, participants will receive a jersey and enjoy a ballpark game with a hot dog dinner included. Pre-registration required. Starts at noon, runs until softball game starts at 5:05 p.m. Registration is $60.

 

Water Ski Show

Tuesday, July 14 │ Blue Gill Bay Park, Wausau

The Water Walkers Ski Team is excited to announce their 2026 summer show theme, “Survivor: Ski Island.” The team will perform free water ski shows throughout the summer on Lake Wausau. The action-packed ski performances will mirror the show “Survivor”, featuring challenges, alliances and tribal councils that will force competitors to outwit, outlast and outski their way to the title of Sole Survivor. Shows on Lake Wausau will take place every Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. running through Aug. 18 at Bluegill Bay Park. Shows are free to attend, with donations appreciated. Wausau Night Market

Stop by downtown Wausau for the Wausau Night Market series, happening on the third Thursdays in June, July and August. This event continues July 16, featuring a mix of local makers and farmers, food trucks, live music, sidewalk dining and specials from your favorite businesses. With booths open from 5-9 p.m., the Wausau Night Market series showcases the best talents of Central Wisconsin. Support 40+ vendors and the unique small businesses and restaurants that make downtown Wausau a thriving economic and artistic hub! Paddle with Caleb

Tuesday, July 14 | Yellow Banks Park, Weston

Looking to get outdoors? Explore this new opportunity to paddle along the Eau Claire River with Come Together, Wausau. The group will meet at 5:45 p.m. at Yellow Banks Park in Weston and will embark promptly at 6 p.m. Participants need to be on time so everyone can launched quickly. This is a downriver paddle (not just a casual leisure float) as kayakers travel the Eau Claire River and finish at the Schofield Dam area. This run is for moderate experience paddlers, as there will be some rougher patches along the river. Participants are asked to bring a lifejacket, drinking water and a kayak, canoe or paddle board. Concerts on the Square

Wednesday, July 15 | 400 Block, Wausau

Bring your cooler and a lawn chair! Concerts on the Square this week features music from the Brianna Rae Band: a band that delivers a high-energy mix of familiar, feel-good favorites. While their main catalog pays tribute to the best of the ’90s and 2000s, it’s not unusual to hear hits from other decades and genres, keeping every performance fresh and unpredictable. At this free 13-week concert series, over 2,000 people gather each week to listen to live music, eat, drink and enjoy the Wisconsin summer nights together.
