Amid high temps, Wausonians found ways to stay cool

Posted

The Wausau area experienced a heatwave this past weekend, with temperatures reaching over 100 degrees Fahrenheit on Sunday. While some escaped the heat by staying inside, others took the opportunity to check out the pools around town.

There are three outdoor pools in Wausau: Kaiser Pool, Memorial Pool, and Schulenburg Pool. Each offers pool goers a chance to feel refreshed while soaking up the sun.

Another option for families is the splash pads around town. They are a perfect way to stay cool while keeping children entertained. There are two in Wausau, including one in Marathon Park and one on the 400 Block.

At Marathon Park, the splash pad welcomes children of all ages, accompanied by adults, for a day of water-filled fun. And in downtown Wausau, the fountain on the 400 Block welcomes visitors with its refreshing mist.
