In the spirit of National Autism Awareness Month, D.C. Everest welcomes back musician, motivational speaker and former American Idol contestant Adin Boyer for a public concert on Monday, April 13 at 6 p.m. at D.C. Everest Middle School.
Boyer is a professional touring musician, accomplished motivational speaker and staunch anti-bullying and autism/disability advocate. He uses his experience as a professional performer and teacher to engage with audiences of all ages and help transform their outlook on people with autism. He also uses his experience living with autism and working with disabled youth and colleagues to help build connections between people and teach about kindness through storytelling.
Boyer previously performed and gave a motivational assembly at the junior high school two years ago, to great success and acclaim.
“Our students loved him,” said Jason McFarlane, DCE Junior High principal.
Following his previous visit, Boyer composed a song about his time at the school entitled, “Assurance.”
In addition to the public concert, Boyer will spend the morning of April 13 with DCE Junior High student musicians followed by an all-school assembly and musical performance focused on kindness and inclusion.
Boyer’s performance on Monday night is expected to last 90 minutes and will raise funds for the Autism Society of Central Wisconsin. DCE Middle School is located at 9302 Schofield Ave. in Weston. Tickets are not necessary for admission and donations will be accepted at the door.
