Marathon County leadership has named a new director of its Social Services Department.
Christa Jensen will take over the role following the departure of Vicki Tylka. Tylka ran the department for a number of years before leaving in December to take a role at North Central Health Care, becoming the managing director of community programs there.
Jensen joined the department of Social Services in 2015 as a supervisor of child protective services. She also served as the deparmtnets Child Welfare Manager and took over the top role in a interim capacity before being named as the department head this month.
“It is truly an honor to serve as the Director of Social Services in Marathon County. I remain committed to providing high quality services to our customers and ensuring we have the right people and programs in place to do so,” Jensen said in a press release. “We have exciting opportunities ahead and I look forward to working collaboratively with our Social Services team and various County stakeholders in pursuit of our goals.”
Jensen started March 1 following a competitive recruitment process, according to county officials.
