Four Seasons to open year round

Posted

True to its name, a local driving range is preparing to remain open year round.

Four Seasons Golf of Wausau is a simulated golf course that “provides indoor golf nearly year-round,” according to its website.

Typically, it’s open from fall–spring, closing for the summer when golfers would rather spend time on an outdoor course.

“We were seasonal,” said Shane Saari, owner of Four Seasons Golf. “I wanted something I could operate year round.”

In order to do this, Saari is building a new Four Seasons facility, one which will include 20 outdoor “bays” that can be used comfortably in summer as well as winter.

The bays will use TopTracer technology, the same technology used at Topgolf facilities around the country. These bays are covered to protect them from the elements and can be heated in the winter and cooled in the summer.

“TopGolf is more entertainment based, with chips in the balls and goals, and stuff like that,” said Saari. “We’re not gonna have any of that.”

At its previous location in Rib Mountain, Four Seasons had four Full Swing golf simulators inside. These will still be available to play at the new location.

There will also be a full bar available with food options.

“Adding the outdoor bays adds a ton of excitement because of the buzz [for TopGolf] across the country.” said Saari. “It’s a chance for golfers to actually hit the ball and see the ball fly outside on a driving range… The expansion just fits. It led to itself.”

Four Seasons Golf of Wausau is expected to reopen at its new location at 880 Eagle Nest Blvd. in Rib Mountain by mid-January of next year.
