High Schooler Nolan Travis is being recognized at the Jimmy Awards.
The Jimmy Awards celebrates student achievement in high school musical theatre. Everyone in the state who wins an outstanding lead actor award gets to audition to go to the Jimmy Awards. This year Travis won an outstanding lead actor award for playing both Quasimodo in The Hunchback of Notre Dame and Jean Valjean in Les Miserables.
“If he wants something, he works hard and goes out and gets it,” said Nolan Mudler, friend and co-star of Nolan Travis. “He unintentionally inspires people along the way because he pushes everyone to do better.”
This is the second year Travis has made his way to New York City to be at the show.
“He was more in shock than I was,” said Mudler. “We were just kind of like, ‘Wow, he’s going back. He did it again,’ and we were all very proud of him.”
Travis will represent Central Wisconsin Children’s Theatre at the 16th annual Jimmy Awards in New York on Monday, June 23.
