Peckham Way to open soon

The City of Wausau has completed another segment of the River Edge Parkway trail system.

The new segment extends from Thomas Street to Adolph Street along the Wisconsin River. The segment has been named Peckham Way by the Wausau City Council to honor former Alder Pat Peckham and his contribution to the community.

There will be a ribbon cutting ceremony to commemorate the trail extension on August 4 starting at 4 p.m. The ceremony will be held at 430 Adrian Street Wausau Waterworks Wastewater Treatment Facility Administrative Building. The event will be held outside weather permitting. The alternate location will be the Administrative Building Conference Room.

At the celebration, there will be guest speakers, ribbon cutting and light refreshments.
