Sheriff’s Office: One dead in Highway 52 crash last week

Sheriff's Office officials say one man is dead following a two-vehicle crash on Highway 52 last week.

According to the Marathon County Sheriff’s Office, 28-year-old Elroy F. Hendrickson of Wausau died as a result of injuries he sustained during the crash on Dec. 30. 

Sheriff’s deputies at the time put out a press release saying they had closed traffic on Highway 52 because of the crash. At the time, authorities said they couldn’t release details on the incident, which occurred at the intersection of highways 52 and X in the town of Wausau. 

Highway 52 was closed for four hours while Sheriff’s officials investigated the crash. Hendrickson was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries. The county’s medical examiner’s office told the Sheriff’s Office recently that Hendrickson died of his injuries. 

No one else was injured in the crash.
