Wausau West mock trial team places fourth at state tournament

The Wausau West High School mock trial team placed fourth at the Wisconsin High School Mock Trial State Tournament in Madison March 6-8.

The team is made up of Griffin Clifford, Jamie Dellvon, Emma Frie, Jack Kleman, Mia Martin, Karmyn Sorenson and Sean Xiong. Several students were recognized for the following roles during the tournament: Jamie Dellvon, outstanding attorney; Mia Martin, outstanding attorney; Karmyn Sorenson, outstanding attorney; Griffin Clifford, outstanding witness; Emma Frie, outstanding witness.

To prepare for competition, students worked under the mentorship of local teachers, attorneys and a member of the judiciary. Teacher coaches are Emily Mohr and Bryce Mohr. Attorney coaches are Dylan Resch, Rick Cveykus, Sam Moheban and Corinna Fischer.
