Wisconsin Valley Fair has 'great' year

Posted

The Wisconsin Valley Fair is now wrapped up after a week of entertainment and fair food.

This year’s entertainment lineup included Sawyer Brown, Parmalee, Night Ranger, Rodeos and a Demo Derby.

“We had a great year. The weather was as close to perfect as you can get. We had nice crowds for all our grandstand events and on the midway as well,” said Jodi Langenhahn, fair administrator. “All the vendors that I have spoken to were happy with how things went this year. Whenever you have an event as large as this, there will be hiccups, but overall, it was a success.”

The Wisconsin Valley Fair has a rich history in Wisconsin, with the first county fair being held in Marathon Park by the Marathon County Agricultural Society on September 25 and 26 in 1868. The biggest attractions included flowers, vegetables, horses, cattle, swine, sheep and poultry.
