Kristopher Torgerson, 36, faces charges of first-degree intentional homicide, attempted armed robbery and hiding a corpse in connection with the death of 22-year-old Stephanie Low.

Torgerson had been scheduled to go to trial in July, but that was postponed to give his attorneys time to prepare.

Low disappeared in October 2010 from her Wausau apartment and was considered a missing person until shortly before her body was found. Torgerson in September 2014 led police to Low’s body and was charged days later.

Torgerson is now serving a five-year prison sentence at Waupun Correctional Institution on unrelated drug trafficking charges and is set to be released Aug. 2, 2017. If he serves his full prison term before being tried on homicide charges, he will be transferred to the Marathon County Jail, where he will be held on a $2 million cash bond.
