A local hockey player has been drafted to an NHL hockey team.

The Red Wings posted last week that Brady Cleveland has been drafted in the second round of the NHL draft. Cleveland played for the always dominant Wausau West team and graduated recently.

Cleveland is the third Wausau West alum to be drafted, joining Nate Condon and Adam Parsells. He had committed to skate for the University of Wisconsin this season.
