LaShine Beauty launches on the city’s near west side

LaShine Beauty

Zoua Moua lives in Wausau and is now fulfilling the dream of everyone who has ever sat down behind a desk and wondered if they can ever truly become self-employed with her new business LaShine Beauty.

The mother and former Minnesota resident started the eyelash and eyebrow business over on Clark Street on the city’s near west side. LaShine has been operating since the end of last month.

Her eyebrow tattooing and eyelash extensions establishment came out of Moua’s desire to change careers after primarily working in offices for the last few years. She says she’s never feared the adventure.

“I feel confident,” Moua says. “I like makeup and beauty. There has been nothing to be nervous about and I am confident in my work. It will end up building customers and regular clientele.”

Support for LaShine

While people like Nou Yang write on Facebook Moua has what may be the best price ever and they “cannot find anything like this anywhere,” not everyone has been buying into the idea. Moua adds her husband and two daughters as well as a close friend are supportive, but some other relatives are skeptical of LaShine Beauty.

Moua says older people in her culture see the business concept as just play, but she is not letting this phase her. She even has plans for more things in the future also.

“There is a lot of competition, but I am going for it anyway,” she says. “Besides tattooing eyebrows and lashes, I want to do nails in the future. I looked into doing haircuts, but this takes too long to learn. I also want to do some fine-line tattooing and plan to do other services, too.”

Whatever happens next, Moua is thankful for the support she receives. More is always welcomed and her skills are available for older and younger women, and everyone in between. Those who have not come in are impressed by what they see, and, for social media influencer Maytinee Martini Xiong, it just may be worth a road trip out of her community.

“I will come visit you. 😊,” the Minnesota resident with 3,000 followers writes on Facebook.

LaShine Beauty is open from 2 p.m. through 6 p.m. Monday through Sunday. Appointments are required and those who are interested can contact Moua at LaShine Beauty LLC on Facebook. As well, Moua can be reached at [email protected] or 715-803-3409 in addition. Evan J. Pretzer is a contributor to City Pages. He can be reached at [email protected].
