Thursday, Sept. 21 | Whitewater Music Hall, Wausau 

Ruth Bader-Ginsburg is one of the most influential Supreme Court justices of the past century. This event pairs wine and cheese (always a great combination) with a film about the late justice’s legacy. Presented by Mosaic of North Central Wisconsin, enjoy some tasty offerings while watching the film On the Basis of Sex, about her early Supreme Court career. Dead Loss, Seisma and Grindge

The PI, as us locals call it, advertises itself as a place for character(s). But it’s also a place to get your heavy music fix. The Polack Inn will be obliging that this weekend with some heavy hitters on its lineup this weekend. Seisma and Grindge make their first appearances at the PI, with Dead Loss returning for another appearance. If you like a little screaming with the guitar amp’s gain knob turned up, this is where you want to be. $5. 9 pm. Polack Inn on Facebook. 

All-Out Pro Wrestling Ballroom Blitz

Saturday, Sept. 23 | Silver Dome Ballroom, Neillsville

Before pro wrestling was big-time TV entertainment, it involved a lot of travelings shows, and All-Out Pro Wrestling is a good example of that. This Ballroom Blitz show, held at teh Silver Dome Ballroom in Neillsville, is a touch out of the way but promises to be a crazy fun event with a slate of matches, plus a showing of The Claw, a documentary about legendary wrestler Baron Von Raschke. Raschke, along with film director Philip Harder, will be on hand to sign autographs and take photos ($10). Wrestling 6 pm; film 8:30 pm. $15, $5 8 and under, $20 ringside seats. (6 and under, free.) Bull Falls Brewery Oktoberfest

There’s only one logical place in town to celebrate Oktoberfest and that’s Bull Falls Brewery. Though the business is winding down, they’re not winding down their events just yet and their Oktoberfest celebration will feature German food, plenty of beer, music with the Bull Falls Brass Band and Neal Zunker and the Music, raffles and plenty more. If you’re looking for some old fashioned fun, this is your ticket. Grace and Sophie’s Pumpkin Patch in Merrill is hosting a corn maze for the family, with plenty of fun for the little ones in their more than 12 acres of corn maze fun. Can’t go Saturday? They have them on Sunday as well, and will be hosting them through the end of October. Autumn Equinox Celebration with CWSO

I’m always tempted to quote Harper’s decorative gourd article but, well, we try to keep the language here PG generally. But hey, Fall is the best season, so come celebrate the equinox at one of the most scenic places in town. Not only is there plenty of garden fun around (and you’ll be able to take some home with you too) but there is also a concert by the Central Wisconsin Symphony Orchestra.
