A number of Wausau School District administrators will not be in their roles in the 2023-24 school year, the district reports.
Wausau East’s principal, Deb Foster, will not be serving in that role but has taken another administration job with the district. Two other principals, WAVE principal Jenny Seymour and John Marshall Principal Amanda Peterson, have taken other roles.
All three positions have interim employees in place, and the district has begun the process of searching for a new principal for Wausau East. But that role might not exist for long as the Wausau School District moves toward a restructuring plan that includes combining Wausau East and Wausau West high schools into one school.
The District recently put out a survey asking for opinions on a new mascot name, which oddly left out the popular choice WarJacks that combines the two schools’ mascots.
In addition to those principals, district officials say a number of assistant principals have left. District officials say those roles have been filled.
