Four things to do around Wausau this week

  1. Community Plant Swap
    Mon. – Sat. 4–9 | MCPL Mosinee Branch, Mosinee

    For anyone looking to spruce up their homes with a little bit of greenery, Mosinee’s public library will be hosting a plant swap. The swap table will be located outside of the Second Street entrance, by the outdoor book drop. The event is free and allows the public to take or leave plants, along with any necessary plant care instructions. August 4–9 during library hours. Call 715-693-2144 for more information.

  2. Romeo & Juliet
    Thurs. – Sun. 7/31 – 8/3 | Schmeekle Amphitheatre, Stevens Point

    Romeo & Juliet, by William Shakespeare, is the classic, tragic tale of two young lovers from feuding families. This classic story will be brought to life by the Central Wisconsin Area Community Theater. This production of Romeo & Juliet contains scenes of violence, depictions of suicide and adult themes. Viewer discretion is advised. Preview show on July 31 at 6 p.m., August 1 at 6 p.m., August 2 at 6 p.m. and August 3 at 2 p.m. A 52nd season-opening banquet will also be held on August 1 at 5 p.m. at Schmeeckle Amphitheatre, 2419 North Point, Stevens Point, WI. $40 for Friday banquet and show. $20 general admission. $10 for veterans and kids. https://cwact.ticbooth.com/romeo-juliet/.

  3. Film, Farm & Culture Fest of Wausau - Rowdy Girl and Forest
    8/1 & 8/2 | Woodson History Center

    The Film, Farm & Culture Fest of Wausau continues this weekend at the Marathon County Historical Society’s Woodson History Center. On Friday, there will be a showing of Rowdy Girl, about a former Texas cattle rancher who goes vegan and transforms her husband’s beef operation into a farmed animal sanctuary. On Saturday, the film Forest will be shown, about a couple who move to a forest near the border of Poland. They created a paradise to raise their children safely until one day strangers show up. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and showtime begins at 6 p.m.

  4. Vintage Game Night
    Friday 8/1 | Woodson History Center, Wausau

    The Marathon County Historical Society’s Vintage Game Night is held the first Friday of each month, with hundreds of vintage games available to choose from and free popcorn.
