Police searching for person of interest in west side shooting

Nicholaus Multani

Police are searching for a person of interest involved in a shooting at a house during a dispute on the city’s west side Sunday.

Officers are searching for 17-year-old Nicholaus Multani of Wausau after police say they believe he was involved in a dispute with another person in the 800 block of Third Avenue Sunday. Officers say following the dispute, they believe Multani fired several times at the home. No one was injured in the shooting.

Police say Multani is 175 pounds and about 6 feet tall. They believe he is driving a silver 2002 Mazda Millenia. He should be considered armed and dangerous.

In a surprise twist, Multani appeared to comment on the Police Department’s Facebook post about the incident several times, including once with a meme stating “can’t catch me” and another questioning how at 17 years old he would be able to obtain a gun.

As of Thursday morning, police issued no new updates on whether or not they had found Multani.
