The Wausau School Board named an interim superintendent to start in July.
The board in a special meeting Thursday named Cale Bushman, the district’s director of pupil services, to start in the interim role in July.
The Wausau School Board is searching for a superintendent to replace Keith Hilts who announced his intention to retire late last year. That came shortly after the Wausau School Board scrapped a major restructuring plan he’d been a big part of developing.
“The Board of Education unanimously supports Mr. Bushman’s promotion to superintendent and we look forward to working with him in this new capacity starting in July,” said Board Vice President Lance Trollop in a press release. “Mr. Bushman’s educational experience and commitment to advancing student learning, achievement, and success make him the perfect fit for this role.”
