Taste N’ Glow Balloon Fest will happen this year after all

The Taste N’ Glow Balloon Fest, previously said to be in jeopardy, is back on the schedule, according to members of the festival’s board.

Nancy and Steve Woller announced earlier this year that they would be no longer be involved with the Wausau balloon festival after parking became an issue. The land the festival used for parking went for sale, and the board was unable to raise enough to buy it.

But sources told City Pages the festival was still being worked on, and Monday the board released a statement saying they will in fact be hosting the festival in Stettin on July 12-13. Sources tell City Pages the site will be the same, but parking will be in a different spot nearby the festival.

“The board is currently in the advanced planning stages and is working diligently to ensure that this year’s festival surpasses all expectations,” board representatives wrote in a press release. “Attendees can look forward to a weekend filled with mesmerizing balloon glows, gourmet food offerings, and a variety of entertainment options suitable for all ages.”

More information on the festival and a new website are expected shortly, board officials say.
